Hello, I'm Jennifer Benedict — wife, mother of five, and the heart behind Doula Jennifer. My journey into birth work didn't begin in a classroom. It began with a moment of pure clarity: sitting with a dear friend who had just brought home a newborn while her home hummed with the beautiful chaos of young children. Even offering just a little help moved me to tears, and I knew — this was exactly what I was made to do.

"I remember feeling completely overwhelmed when I brought my own newborns home. I want to be the person I wish I had — so that no woman has to walk that road alone."

My own birth experiences were difficult. I didn't have a doula. I didn't have someone who truly knew how to offer comfort measures, massage, or the kind of steady, knowledgeable encouragement that changes everything about a birth story. That experience — and the longing for something better — became the fire behind my purpose.

I believe deeply that it is a God-given calling for more experienced women to come alongside younger women in the sacred season of childbirth and new motherhood. I am here to teach, support, encourage, and empower you through every step of this journey.

With DONA International approved training and certification as a Birth Instructor, I bring both heart and expertise to every family I serve. My approach is nurturing and calm — I have a quiet, steady presence that is intentional. Birth rooms can carry so much emotion, and I believe that peace is something you carry with you when you walk in the door.

A little more about Jennifer

When I'm not supporting families, you'll find me in West Central Michigan living a full and grounded life alongside my husband and our five wonderful children (some grown, some nearly there!). I find deep joy in the simple, meaningful things — tending my garden, getting lost in a good book, bringing order and beauty to a space, hunting for treasures at thrift shops, and exploring the world of real estate investment. These aren't just hobbies — they reflect who I am: someone who nurtures, creates, and sees potential everywhere.
